New Timing Belt Whine

01/06/2010 · well i thought the timing belt pulleys were whining and had some slack so i changed them and i still have a whin that comes and goes the timing belt is new and there are no acc belts on at the moment just the timing belt, it sounds like it is coming from the top at the valve cover. the bottom end and head is fresh.....

08/12/2011 · When I got the car back, I am getting a whining noise coming from inside the timing cover which increases in pitch as the revs go up. I took the car back and the mechanic told me " Ah I forgot to tell you that they all do that with a new belt and when the belt has stretched a little after about 500 - 1000 miles the niise will go away"

25/11/2012 · I have an 06 Chevy aveo and I changed my timing belt back in august with a gates timing belt kit, to date I have probably driven 3500kms since I changed it. The car was not making this noise at all then right after installing the new timing belt, idler and tensioner it started. The sound is much...

01/04/2018 · Timing Belt Whine Hey guys, I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on something going on with my 4Runner. The truck is a 1997 SR5 with 221k miles on the clock.

Hi everyone, new to the forums but have had a 944S2 for about four years now. Installed new timing belt, balance shaft belt, all rollers, new water pump and thermostat. This car as I'm sure you all know has an automatic tensioner. I've left it at factory settings however, have a whine

15/10/2010 · Hi I changed the timing belt on my 1.7 cdti Astra a couple of weeks ago (along with the tensioner and idler) but now get a “whining/ wearing” sound on idle when the engine is warm. I was thinking it was either tensioned too tight or the belt was wearing on the case so I took it apart again. I...

27/11/2012 · Find the whine. First, exclude the exterior (visible) belts by removing one, then the other, and seeing if the whine persists. If it persists, remove a timing cover (or more, your call) and see if there is any interference with the new belt.

23/08/2012 · Hi all, I need help. Took my hardbody DC 4x4 in to a dealer at 180 000km to have the timing belt changed (1st time it was done was at 90 000km). The engine is a 3.3l petrol (VG33E). Great engine, very strong, but older technology with three drive belts, a timing (cam) belt instead of a chain and a tensioner bearing for the one drive belt.

16/03/2011 · Timing chain whine. Jump to Latest Follow 1 - 20 of 22 Posts ... If you do it yourself figure on parts costing about $300. That will be all new chains, tensioner shoes, water pump, seals, and o-rings. ... I did this a few times in my neighborhood and it was quite evident it was the chains. I also removed the serp belt to check and yup, it ...

good day friends. I am new to the 944 world. I must say i enjoy driving it more than my 928. one question..is it normal to hear the "whine" of the cam belt or counter balance belt. both were replaced new almost 2000 miles ago. it is a smooth sound no rattling or grinding. it actually sounds cool like a supercharger!..but one friend says its a loose counterbalance belt. and then my local ...
